Who are the people in your neighborhood

Messing up Grandma's kitchen

Moving

Shortly after it was time to pack up and prepare for our move to Hawaii. I don't think the reality of the move hit us until all our things were boxed up. In the meantime, Alyssa figured out how to walk (probably to prevent complete boredom without any toys).

O.C. Fair

Monday, September 15, 2008

Alright, so if you haven't already figured out, I'm a horrible blogger. Here is the quarterly update. All the girls (Mom Lee, Meri, Britty and I) and the kids took a visit to the O.C. Fair. It was my first time there and one thing that caught my eye were the signs for all the food. It was fried food paradise - everything from frog legs to oreos. It took us awhile to find the petting zoo and when we did, the goats did a great job at freaking out the kids. In the kid's defense, I would be afraid of an animal as tall as me trying to knaw at my clothes.

Alyssa's New Exercise Machine

Alyssa finally figured out that she didn't need a gym membership to be able to exercise...in fact the stair climber is almost always open for her to use. She even does her patented "booty shake" when she pauses to catch her breath. The difficult part now is getting her to stay off of it, or at least not to want to climb down head first. (we're still working on getting that camcorder, so the best we could do was my phone)

For Thomas 2nd birthday he decided to go to his favorite - the beach. We drove to Sunset beach, CA. I brought my surfboard to attempt to surf - got in a lot of paddling. That's okay, Alyssa looked cute on the board. After swimming and snacking at the beach, we topped it off with swimming at Grandma Lee's followed by burgers and cake. Happy birthday Tom Tom - thanks for helping Grandma take care of Alyssa when I go to work.

Greg and Helen came over to play Wii and show Alyssa the fine art of Mario Kart racing

It was also Grandpa Leighton's birthday, so we went to the cemetary and brought him some carnations - one of his favorites.

We went to Disneyland for Nate's company picnic (the only way Nate would go). We were there for 5 hours and only got on 3 rides: Finding Nemo, Space Mountain and Casey Jr.'s train ride. Alyssa got a kick out of the yellow submarine and was making all kinds of gurgling noises - maybe she was trying to talk to the fishes. It will probably be awhile before we're back to Disneyland so it was nice to get to go.

A swim at Grandma Lee's

One hot Saturday, we decided to cool off by swimming at Grandma's. Alyssa had a blast testing out the waters for the first time.
